Blue Line OHare Branch Slow Zone Elimination Project ( link) ends: Tue 12/30/2008
CTA is working to eliminate slow zones on the Blue Line's O'Hare Branch to make people's rides faster.
The track work being done will reduce travel times, increase service reliability, and make service operate more efficiently and smoothly.
On some nights and weekends, CTA may operate trains over a single track, leaving one out of service so work can go faster.
Allow extra time on all travel on the Blue Line as trains may operate slowly in certain areas between Addison and O'Hare.
Over some weekends trains may run in two sections to allow for even faster work.
It is anticipated that this work will continue through 2008. When the work is complete, slow zones will be eliminated in the project's target areas.
Please frequent our Web site, pay attention to notices posted in railcars and stations, or visit CTA at transitchicago.com for specific information about when and how these reroutings will occur.
from Sat 9/22/2007 thru Tue 12/30/2008
